Online Grades: Procedures and Helpful Items concerning SKYWARD

The math department has laid out some guidelines as to when you can expect to see grades posted.

Tests: 3 – 5 days
Daily Assignments: 3 – 5 days
Projects: 2 weeks

Most of the time I have everything posted within 1 or 2 days, but sometimes things come up that prevent me from posting any sooner.

Skyward uses “missing” as its default comment. It’s probably not missing, it’s probably not posted yet.

Please remember that grades are always a work in progress and occasionally your child may not make a good daily grade. They are learning and homework is where they practice what we are covering in class. At the same time, if your child is not doing homework (or copying from a friend), they are not learning and their grades will be consistently low. If we never practice, we have a hard time learning. I don’t think any coach of any sport would go into a game without ever practicing. The same can be said for learning music for band or choir. Our minds need repetition to learn and math homework is where that repetition happens.

If a zero is posted, then it was an assignment that was not turned in and will not be changed. It is your child’s responsibility to make sure all assignments are turned in ON TIME. See the Math Department Policies #7.

I follow WOHS school policy for absences.

If a student is out for school related activities, school policy dictates that the assignment missed is due on the day of their return. There is no extra time given.
